Karen Chen Chinese-American, dancer and dance educator, founder of "Dance Beijing". She was born in Sichuan, grew up in Beijing, now lives in New York's Long Island.

Childhood in China, Study Dance at Opera and Dance Theatre's Dance School, she was principal dancer of Central Chinese Opera House, member of the Chinese Dancers Association, later Study in Beijing Dance Academy majoring in dance theory history and comment. Work as a dance magazine section editor, and writing for "dance magazine" and "Dance" two major magazine in China Beijing.

Coming to New York City in 1988 and had Nikolais / Louis Dance Foundation scholarship, under the guidance (Alwin Nikolais) and (Murry Louis) the two masters of modern choreography training in New York City after three years graduated, she launched a series of work in the United States related to dance and dance education. 1996 founded the "Dancing Beijing" performances in the United States east coast, introduce Chinese classical dance and folk art performances. The sites include schools and campuses, as well as a variety of public and private activities. At the invitation of the New York City NBA professional basketball team, "Dancing Beijing" performed at half time show at the famous Madison Square Garden twice in the finals, television reach millions of fans.

Also she has been teaching dance at Chinese Center on Long Island for 14 years. 2012 the New York State government of Nassau claims that praise, praise her contribution to the Chinese community on Long Island. As a Artistic Director of Heritage East Inc. she work with BOCES Nassau Board of Cooperative Educational Services organized Beijing children's dance group "Cultural Tour USA 2012" performances for public at Long Island and the Disney, at same time interact with the American Art School in New York City, channel 12 had reported the news. 2014 she has been a judges for Sinovision teen dance talent contest judges.

Over the years she zealous concern the Chinese art students in United States to provide help and guidance. She wrote a number of articles to introduce Chinese art of dance in the United States to pursue those life experiences, including: Shen Wei, Li Zhongmei, Aly Rose (Luo Hongmei), etc. published for the "Beijing Dance Magazine".
